Emerald Headway Distributors, Inc. is one of the leading distributors of imported and local magazines and books in the Philippines. Its operations started in June 1987 upon the acquisition of the exclusive distribution rights for STAR magazine.

Today, after its auspicious start, it has gained foothold in the industry and now has established distribution agreements with Curtis Circulation, Worldwide Media, CMG International, Kable News Service and Bauer Publications of the United States, Seymour International, Comag and IPC Market Force of the United Kingdom; Hola S.A. of Spain and Quadgraphics, Next Media and Great Minds Media of the Philippines.


Currently, Emerald Headway carries a portfolio of close to 1000 magazine titles, covering a wide array of categories, some of which are: women's interest, men's lifestyles, sports, business, computers, fashion, cuisine, teenage music and pop culture to mention a few. These are made possible through distribution of such best-selling titles as Star, Hello, In-Style, Maxim, Tips and Tricks, Smash Hits and a lot more.

Likewise, Emerald Headway is also actively involved in the distribution of books. Its entry into this field commenced in July, 1995, when the Chicken Soup for the Soul line of Health Communications, Inc. was successfully launched.

Through its marketing efforts and in partnership with all its distributors, the Philippines, outside of the United States and Canada, was the largest international market for the Chicken Soup for the Soul books in 1996 and 1997. This corporate feat was recognized when it received the International Publishing Award from Health Communications, Inc. in Frankfurt, Germany in October, 1998. Other international awards that recognized Emerald Headway's outstanding sales and marketing performance were the Plaques of Appreciation from Access International, given consecutively in 1996 and 1997.

One unique factor that sets Emerald Headway apart from other local distributors is its aggressive marketing strategies and programs. The company is not only involved in the distribution of magazines and books but is also actively engaged in the promotion of its entire product line. Promotional activities being implemented on a regular basis are in the form of press releases, promotional flyers, violators, retailer display contests, consumer promotions, special holiday gift packages, special events participation and lightbox advertising.

Emerald Headway Distributors, Incorporated is an international distributor member of the American Booksellers Association, the Christian Booksellers Association and Distripress, all of which are globally accepted and respected organizations for book retailers, publishers and distributors. In the local front, it is an active member of the Association of Philippine Booksellers

From a single proprietorship set-up in 1987, Emerald Marketing has emerged into a large-scale business enterprise engaged in the exclusive distribution of magazines and books throughout the Philippines. Incorporated on July 31, 1990, it has assumed the corporate name of Emerald Headway Distributors, Incorporated.

Emerald Headway carries over 300 book titles from major publishers in the United States and the United Kingdom.
