Precious
Pages Corporation
began operations
in 1992 under the helm of two young business entrepreneurs,
Segundo D. Matias, Jr. and Richard Reynante. The company's
very first venture was the publication of Tagalog
romance pocketbooks that were then gaining popularity
among the Filipino romantics, especially the women.
Jun and Richard, two creative think tanks from advertising,
film and television, knew very well the Pinoy taste
in entertainment and as such, decided to pool their
resources and came up with Precious Hearts Romances.
Starting with one issue every month, Precious Hearts
Romances became an instant hit that the company started
churning out thirty-five titles a month. Today, the
book imprint is recognized as the best-selling Tagalog
romance pocketbook.
With peaking sales and an ever-increasing clientele,
the company acquired a complete set of printing machines.
And with this came the decision to diversify into
other products, particularly children's books, song/music
magazine-cum-chord books and romance magazine.
